175th LogoThe History of the Catholic Faith in Lytham since 1190
The culmination of 12 months of research and writing by Sue Shakespeare and as a truly fitting end to our 175th Anniversary Celebrations and as a lasting legacy; we are proud to publish a book that not only tells the fascinating story of 175 years of St Peter’s RC Church but also of the Catholic Faith in Lytham since 1190.

This book is a must have for anyone interested in the history of our Church but also of Lytham.  Click HERE for more info

Morecambe BayPINPRICK

The Walk Across Morecambe Bay for PINPRICK this year is on Sunday 26 July and will be the 11th time we have crossed the Bay to raise funds for our Overseas Mission. So if you fancy a great day out, good fun and help a lot of needy people please contact Jim Smeed on 01253 734958 or via the website for further information. Our running total raised for our mission has just passed the £106,000 mark and I’ll be sending £2500 to Sister Maeve in Peru this week. It’s events like these that make all this possible so please be generous when you sponsor the walkers. Thanks a lot and bye for now.

Choir AdvertChoir
From the positive feedback we get from the members of the congregation, we are confident that the choir is enhancing the liturgy and giving a strong lead to the singing in church. However, we are short of members and to be able to make sure we can continue at the good standard we have, we need more singers. PLEASE EVERYBODY give much thought to the possibility of joining the choir. If you can sing in tune and most people can, perhaps with some help, please give us a try. (You do not have to be able to read music). You will be made most welcome and there is nothing like a good sing to lift the spirits whilst performing a valuable service for the parish. Just come up and say ”hello” for a warm welcome. In addition, as the congregation from St. Peter’s and St. Joseph’s are settling into the new order, we would like to take this opportunity to welcome members from both parishes who are willing to share their gifts.

Fylde FoodbankFylde Foodbank

At the present time in the Fylde there are families struggling to put food on the table for various reasons — people on low incomes, a sudden crisis, redundancy, benefit delay or even an unexpected bill.  St. Peter’s SVP members have a carton in the inner porch each Sunday morning for parishioners to donate non-perishable food. SVP members will ensure your kind donations reach local people in crises. On the box there is a list of the preferred food to donate. Thank you for your support.
